- Elements of pathophysiology of the skin, elements of dermatological semiotics, most common infectious, inflammatory, immunological, and neoplastic diseases of the oral cavity and of the perioral skin.

- Educational objectives
- The student will: acquire the main concepts of the pathophysiology of the oral cavity and of the perioral skin, be able to recognize the elementary primary and secondary lesions to recognize the most common infectious, inflammatory, immunological and neoplastic diseases of the oral cavity and of the perioral skin.

- Method of carrying out the exam.
The exam includes an oral test lasting 20 minutes divided into two questions. The test is aimed at ascertaining the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by the student on the theoretical and methodological contents indicated in the program. The oral test will also allow you to verify the student's communication skills with language skills and independent organization of the presentation on the same topics with theoretical content.

- Elements of macroscopic and microscopic features and physiology of the skin.
Semeiologic approach to dermatology patient, elementary (primary and secondary) skin lesions.
Skin malformations: white sponge nevus, melanocytic nevi, emo-lymphangiomas, Fordyce grains.
Pigmentation disorders: Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, amalgam tattoos, vitiligo.
Bacterial diseases of the face and oral cavity: angular cheilitis, impetigo, erysipelas, folliculitis.
Virus diseases of the face and oral cavity: herpes simplex, herpes zoster, HPV infections,
erpangina, hand-foot-mouth disease.
Fungal diseases of the face and oral candidiasis; pityriasis versicolor and dermatophytosis.
Sexually transmitted diseases and oral cavity: syphilis, gonorrhea, skin manifestations in AIDS.
Recurrent aphthosis and Behcet's disease.
Skin diseases of emergency: urticaria-angioedema syndrome, anaphylactic shock; notions of adverse mucous-cutaneous drug reactions.
Contact stomatitis and cheilitis, professional contact dermatitis in the dental field.
Atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis.
Frequent immune bullous diseases of the face and oral cavity: pemphigus, pemphigoids and discoid lupus erythematosus.
Lichen planus and lichenoid reactions; burning mouth syndrome; xerostomia and Sjogren's syndrome.
Tongue diseases: geographic tongue, median rhomboid glossitis, subsided tongue, hairy tongue.
Mucous-cutaneous precancerous.
Basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma.
Elementary notions of topical and physical therapy.
