Contents During the lessons, students will have the possibility to learn about music’s potentials, the different teaching methodologies which developed over the years, the recent neuroscience studies which highlighted the effects of music on our brain, the experience of prenatal listening of the fetus and the normative which led to the introduction of music as an actual subject in schools.
To be expected: frontal lessons; video projections; analysis of documents; group projects; practical activities for the memorization of songs; body percussion tracks; dance performances; usage of softwares for the interactive multimedia board; guided tours to the resources present on our territory.

Educational objectives The teaching plan includes development of specific competences in the musical field.
· being able to plan teaching paths that will also answer to complex needs according to the National Indications for the first school cycle regarding musical education;
· learning about fundamental concepts and techniques of the music culture to organize programs which are flexible and aligned to the children’s educational needs;
· understanding the main models of education in the musical field to plan and create coherent didactic measures to the competences which are to be achieved and to the specifics of the class group that the activities are presented to;
· mastering different communication codes;
· utilizing technology in the musical field to optimize one’s work.
Prerequisites A good general knowledge is required, especially regarding the pedagogical field (mental and physical development of the infant and importance of games) and social-emotional education.
Teaching methods Frontal lessons in the classroom, practical exercises, group works, didactic tours, usage of softwares for the multimedia interactive board.
Other information In case the student requests to anticipate the exam to a year earlier than planned in the studying programme, it is recommended to attend the lessons’ cycle and to take the exam in the first session available after said lessons have terminated, therefore following the teaching’s programmation semester.
Learning verification modality Planning of two Learning Units (Format used in University also referring to UdLs) of a musical teaching path in kindergarten and primary school which will have to be turned in at least a week before the exam session date.
This test is created to verify:
the ability to correctly apply theoretical knowledges in a project inherent to music teaching;
the ability to communicate what was learned with method and accuracy both considering form and care of the final paper (insertion of images, examples.);
the ability to rephrase what was learned in a personal and critic way and the overall originality of the journey;
the ability to highlight interconnections between the themes which were the object of studying.
Multiple choice test with 3 answer options (duration of 1 hour)
The goal of this test is to verify the knowledge level and the comprehension ability reached by the student in regards to the theoretical and methodological contents indicated in the programme.
The same value will be attributed to all of the answers.
