Contents Clinical medicine. Signs and symptoms of diseases. Pain. Fever. Cardiovascular and respiratory pathophysiology. Kidney pathophysiology. Geriatric, oncologic, infectious diseases and their practical assistance organization.

Educational objectives The candidates will have to pass the six tests (one for each module) and the final vote will be the weighted average of the votes obtained in the various tests. The aim of the evaluation will be to determine whether or not have been achieved the capacities for which the teaching was set up, especially regarding the candidate's organization skills and knowledge.
Prerequisites In order to understand and know how to apply most of the information and knowledge provided by teaching in order to acquire an advanced level of study and critical analysis of clinical methodology for Government infermieristica and assistance, requires that the student has clinical and diagnostic knowledge in the areas of internal medicine, infectious diseases, oncology, cardiovascular and geriatrics. All this because the lessons will be given care paths and methods of nursing based approach and are often a practical application of the knowledge gained in these areas. The aim is to be able to coordinate projects aimed at the prevention of diseases, to be able to implement the knowledge about the characteristics of diagnostic therapeutic care and gain knowledge about different models for taking charge of the person and his family both at the territorial hospital based on integration between different professionals in order to ensure continuity of care and appropriate responses with respect to major health problems.
Teaching methods Face-to-face lessons
Learning verification modality EXAM CONDUCTION METHOD: Written test lasting approximately 60 minutes divided into 30 multiple choice questions. with 4 answers of which only 1 is correct. The questions will focus on aspects of pathophysiology and internal diagnostics, with particular reference to the role played by the nurse, also in the organizational and management field.
TESTING OF CLINICAL SKILLS: some of the questions will focus on the interpretation of diagnostic and blood chemistry tests. SKILLS ACQUIRED DURING THE INTERNSHIP: there is a section specifically dedicated to this aspect.
METHOD FOR ALLOCATION OF THE FINAL MARK: weighted average of the marks obtained in the individual disciplines

Contents The frail elderly patient: recognizing and adapting care paths and processes.
The orthogeriatric patient: peculiarities of the treatment path in the pre-operative, intra-operative, post-operative and hospital-territory integration phase.

Educational objectives The course aims to acquaint the student with the principles of Gerontology and Geriatrics, a completely autonomous discipline, with its own cultural and professional area. Discussed topics should bring to light the originality of the elderly patient, which differs from the adult in terms of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and clinical care; the relationship between evidence-based medicine, medical complexity and geriatric medicine; the frail elderly; the geriatric syndromes; the main recurrent diseases in geriatrics; behavioral principles in geriatric medicine. Upon this knowledge the student must be able to recognize the unique aspects of aging, atypical presentation of many systemic and organic diseases and the complexity of multimorbidity, interactions between psychic and organic conditions able to amend the prognosis of diseases, the risks associated with polypharmacy, the value of multidimensional geriatric assessment in different health care settings.
Prerequisites Basic Knowledge of Physiology of Nervous and Muscular Systems.

Learning verification modality The exam includes a written test consisting of an open answer elaborate to two questions on neurological diseases treated in the course. The test lasts for an hour and a half and is designed to verify the knowledge of the main clinical aspects of the neurological diseases object of the questions as well as their nursing management in the different stages of severity
