Educational objectives
The main teaching objective is to provide students with knowledge and skills on the most representative and current topics and debates in developmental assessment.
The course objectives are defined concerning the following domains:
Knowledge and understanding skills: to enable the student to attain the fundamental knowledge for assessment and intervention design in developmental age.
Application of knowledge: enabling the student to apply this knowledge to resolve new situations related to psychological diagnosis in the developmental age, knowing how to choose the theoretical model and test battery most suitable for reading the case.
Autonomy of judgment: the student will be able to integrate the knowledge acquired at the theoretical level with the specificity of concrete cases that he/she may encounter in work contexts.
Communication: the student will acquire specific terminology enabling him/her to communicate with specialist (and non-specialist) interlocutors in the sector and/or in an interdisciplinary manner.
Ability to learn: the student will develop the competence to study independently, research specialized material in the sector, and use bibliographic research in sector databases.
Prerequisites
To understand the theoretical intervention models proposed in the lecture, it is important that the student has acquired knowledge in the fields of dynamic psychology and general and developmental psychopathology. It is also recommended that the student knows psychological interviewing techniques and intervention models (family and individual). Knowledge of classical attachment theory and psychoanalytic theory are prerequisites for understanding the course. Students enrolled in Cds other than "Assessment of Individual Functioning in Clinical and Health Psychology" are invited to contact the Professor (Prof. Delvecchio) by email before including the course in their syllabus.
Teaching methods
The lectures will take place as face-to-face lecture for most of the arguments. Student’s active interaction is welcome. Presentation (also by inviting professionals) and collective discussion of clinical cases and experimental research protocols. Presentation of insights by students.
Other information
The student can check the course material and any announcements/notices from the Professor on UniStudium during the course.
Learning verification modality
There is a final assessment consisting of a written examination with closed and open questions, the aim of which is to test the student's level of knowledge and understanding of psychodynamic assessment at developmental age.

Students with disabilities and/or SLDs are invited to visit the page on tools and measures and to agree in advance on what is necessary with the Professor (https://www.unipg.it/disabilita-e-dsa)

In case a student intends to anticipate his/her exam in a year preceding the one it is scheduled in his/her curriculum, it is recommended to anticipate as well the attendance of the lessons and to schedule the exam in the first useful session after the lessons have been concluded.
