Contents The course aims to introduce the student to the main theoretical and diagnostic approaches to general and developmental psychopathology, with particular attention to psychodynamic perspectives. The general principles of Developmental Psychopathology and the main specific clinical conditions will be studied in depth. In relation to the diagnostic frameworks, particular attention will be paid to a multifactorial understanding of the disorder, in line with the concept of vulnerability. To this end, the biological, cognitive-affective, and interpersonal vulnerabilities to specific forms of psychopathology will be discussed. In particular, the following clinical conditions will be presented: Affective syndromes, Behavioral disorders, Emotional regulation and attachment disorders, Autism spectrum disorders, Personality disorders

Educational objectives The main aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge and skills on the most representative and current topics and debates on psychopathological models in developmental and adult age. The aims of the course are thus defined with reference to the following domains: - Knowledge and understanding: allow the student to achieve the fundamental knowledge needed to distinguish the main diagnostic manuals and some of the most frequent forms of psychopathology in childhood, adolescence, and/or adulthood; - Application of knowledge: allow the student to apply this knowledge to recognize situations of potential psychopathological vulnerability; - Making judgments: the student will be able to integrate the knowledge acquired at a theoretical level with the specificity of the concrete cases that they will be able to encounter in potential work contexts;- Communication: the student will acquire specific terminology that will allow them to communicate with specialist (and non-specialist) interlocutors in mental health settings and/or in an interdisciplinary context;- Ability to learn: the student will develop the competence to independently study and conduct research of specialized material (also) through the competent and critical use of bibliographic searches in specialized databases
Prerequisites A prerequisite for understanding the diagnostic frameworks and the etiopathogenetic processes covered in the course is knowledge of the main psychodynamic theoretical models. Students enrolled in a degree other than Philosophy and Psychological Sciences and Techniques, or who do not have notions of Dynamic Psychology, are invited to contact the teacher by email before including this course in their study plan.
Teaching methods Lectures; clinical case discussion

Learning verification modality A final evaluation will be planned. The aim of the test is to verify the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by the student on the theoretical and methodological contents indicated in the program. The final evaluation consists of a written exam including both open and multiple-choice questions, which together contribute to the final grade (sufficient grades: 18 to 30 out of 30)
Specifically, the final written exam will last 60 minutes (students with DSA will have an extension of +30% of the time) and will consist of:
• 20 multiple choice questions with 3 answer options (only one correct answer, each question is worth one point, no point deductions for incorrect or missing answers, for a maximum of 20 points)
• 2 open questions each evaluated with a score between 0 and 6
• A total score of 31 or 32 yields the “cum laude”.

In case of repeated attempts, the grade received at the last attempt, and not the highest grade, remains valid.
On the day of the exam, please check the classroom where the exam will take place on the timetable board at the Department entrance or on the
daily lecture timetable on the website www.fissuf.unipg.it

The written exam will be administered digitally on UniStudium with Safe Exam Browser/SEB). Additional information will be available on the UniStudium page of the course.
Anyone who does not have the opportunity to use their own electronic device can take the exam at one of the LIDU (Computer Lab of the Humanistic Departments) stations after having completed the recognition procedures in the classroom and at the time indicated in the calendar. In order to reserve a seat at the LIDU it is necessary to request it, indicating it in the notes at the time of booking the exam.
Further information will be published on the exam booking page on the SOL and on the UniStudium page of the course.
