The course aims to convey to students both from a theoretical and an empirical point of view how sociology manages to study society and certain categories. The aim of the lessons will be to guide learning both from a general point of view of the discipline, and in an applied way in the contexts in which students will find themselves operating at the end of their studies. Fundamental will be the analysis of the relationship between society-identity-daily life, within which questions related to lifestyles, the body and identity are inserted in particular.

The test will also evaluate the candidates’ presentational and argumentative skills and the consistence of original insights and developments within the field of the discipline.
In case a student intends to anticipate his/her exam in a year preceding the one it is scheduled in his/her curriculum, it is recommended to anticipate as well the attendance of the lessons and to schedule the exam in the first useful session after the lessons have been concluded.
Extended program
In particular, the student deepens his knowledge in the context of the growing social relevance of motor activities, in the changing sphere of free time and the increasingly frequent search, by different categories and social strata, for greater physical well-being through better care of the body and of one's image. These are all activities which favor the elaboration of new meanings and identities.
