Contents
Knowledge of the scientific method and guidelines of good clinical and laboratory practice (GCP and GCLP); knowledge of the main fields of instrumental and laboratory diagnostics relating to diseases associated with vision. Main techniques and methods of research laboratories applied to otpometric studies. Animal and cellular experimental models.
Reference texts

Support material projected during the lessons in electronic format will be available on Unistudium.
Educational objectives
To acquire knowledge and laboratory diagnostic techniques for the pathologies responsible for vision alterations. Ability to understand the scientific method and research protocols and study designs.
Prerequisites
In order to understand and to know to tackle the majority of the information given within the Course, you must have basic knowledge of Biology.
Teaching methods
Face-to-face lectures with audiovisual material on all subjects of the Course.
Learning verification modality
The exam consists of an oral test with a duration depending on the performance of the test itself (about 20 minutes, 2 questions). The test aims at evaluate the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by the student. In particular, it will be evaluated the acquisition of knowledges relatively to the main experimental laboratory activities in both diagnostic and research fields (1st question) and their applications in the field of vision pathologies (2nd question).
