Foreign students are required to take a test to verify their proficiency of the Italian language, except Erasmus Incoming students, Exchange Students and students in mobility as per the Cooperation Agreement
Profile of the programme
The Bachelor degree in Communication Sciences has been devised to provide fundamental theoretical knowledge and the essential practical-professional competences needed to operate in principal communication sectors. The course core is based on scientific multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary study. Its aim is to prepare the student for the workplace in diverse communication fields, with an education that ranges from sociological and economic disciplines to more strictly legal and humanistic areas. The course provides the competences required to produce content in the differing languages of commercial and public communication, and offers a number of opportunities for practical application through workshops during the course of study
Programme learning outcomes
Programme learning outcomes Graduates of the Programme will be able to demonstrate: -) knowledge of different sociological theories in the field of communication, -) knowledge of public law, private law and communication law, -) knowledge of political economy, marketing and corporate management. This degree course prepares graduates to be able to examine and interpret contemporary socio-political and economic dynamics, both internal and international, thanks to the interdisciplinary approach that comprehensively frames issues of society needs and governance. The course supplies fundamental knowledge in areas of economics, law, political science, sociology, history and language, and, through appropriate coordination of the different studies, the student is equipped to use a plurality of conceptual tools. The graduate is consequently able to employ their degree in a wide range of occupations in both private or public sectors and also , to continue their study via advanced multidisciplinary education or via specialization of one of the branches of the basic course of study
Qualification requirements and regulations
Qualification requirements and regulations, including graduation requirements Admission to the final examination for degree conferment is granted to the student who has earned all the credits required on the plan of study for study activities as distinct from the final examination. The final examination for the conferment of the degree title is public and consists of the presentation of the student’s own thesis before the thesis commission. The thesis consists of a brief study (approximately 40 pages) on a subject agreed between the student and a teacher-tutor to be discussed before the thesis commission. The award for the thesis contributes (with points between 0 and 4) to the formation of a final mark for the conferment of the degree title.
Examination regulations and grading scale
Assessment is normally an oral or written exam. The grades for subject exams are measured in thirtieths (0-30 scale), the minimum grade is 18/30 and the maximum grade is 30/30. “Cum laude” may be added to the maximum grade (30 cum laude), in the case of excellence
