Contents | The course provides the theoretical and practical contents of special education. In detail, the course focus on the main teaching and learning issues related to the presence of students with special educational needs in the school context in order to be inclusive. |

Educational objectives | The course aims at providing knowledge and skills on special education for inclusion. In detail, students will be able to know, recognize, understand and implement historical, cultural, organizational and teaching and learning key elements of an inclusive education aimed at the creation of accessible learning contexts. |
Prerequisites | In order to be able to understand and to know the course contents, the student must possess the theoretical and practical principles of General Teaching |
Teaching methods | The course is organized as follows:- lectures focused on the main theoretical contents;- projections of useful videos to better know and understand the main subject matter and broaden the perspective of the lectures;- group work on specific issues. |

Learning verification modality | The course includes a written final test. The test aims at assessing the knowledge acquired during the course. |
Extended program | The topics addressed during the course will be the following: the history of school integration in Italian school legislation; the principle of school inclusion at national, European and international levels; Special educational needs; Universal Design for Learning (UDL); Effective teaching strategies for inclusive teaching. |

Contents | The laboratory delves into methodological-didactic aspects on how to design and implement inclusive teaching. In particular, the theme of accessibility of learning will be addressed, in nursery and primary schools, through the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach. A specific program for particular groups of students (Erasmus students) will be considered from time to time depending on the needs of the students. |

Educational objectives | The workshop aims at building methodological-didactic skills aimed at promoting inclusive teaching. In particular, students will be able to articulate inclusive learning proposals, in kindergarten and primary school, exploiting the potential of the Universal Design for Learning approach. Students will be able to produce learning units that are accessible to all students' educational needs. |
Prerequisites | To be able to understand and to tackle the workshop’s contents, the student must possess the theoretical and practical principles of General Teaching and Special Education. |
Teaching methods | Group work on specific issues;- socialization of the works produced by class group for shared learning. |

Learning verification modality | The workshop provides a final written test which consists in the display of a group product (including multimedia) aimed at showing the knowledge and skills acquired during the course. In case a student intends to anticipate his/her exam in a year preceding the one it is scheduled in his/her curriculum, it is recommended to anticipate as well the attendance of the lessons and to schedule the exam in the first useful session after the lessons have been concluded.
