Disease prevention: health promotion/protection. Levels of disease prevention: primary, secondary and tertiary prevention.
Health education: methods for health promotion (relationship between health and human behavior).
Epidemiology and prevention of infectious diseases. Etiologic agent: definition.
Routes of transmission of infectious disease agents: sexually transmitted diseases; bloodborne, airborne, vehicle(water)borne and vectorborne transmission.
Prevention of infectious diseases; principles of immunology;. classification of vaccines; inactivated or engineered vaccines and toxoids; whole-cell and fractional vaccines; live attenuated vaccines; new vaccines.
Immunization schedule for children; immunization of adults and travellers; immunoglobulins.
Principles of disinfection; classification of disinfectants. Sterilization; classification of methods of sterilization; controls of sterilization. Disinfestation and pest control; methods of mosquito control; management and control of pediculosis; rodent prevention and control.
Epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular diseases (CVD); principal risk factors; the Framingham cohort; prevention and control of infarction and ictus.
Epidemiology and prevention of cancer; the carcinogenesis and mutagenesis processes; principal cancer risk factors; tobacco smoking and health; prevention of smoking-related diseases; methods of giving up smoking and nicotine replacement therapy.
Relationship between health and human behavior; the role of health education as a strategy in health promotion and disease prevention; health promotion.

Contents Introduction to the discipline with hints on the key elements of the right.
The course covers the key topics of forensics in criminal and civil law.
The program also aims to provide general information on ethical, with
particular reference to bioethics.
For each topic will be presented with equal dignity the different opinions
of the debate and their reasons to support them.

Educational objectives 1. Acquisition of critical awareness based on the fundamental obligations
of professional practice currently in force in Italy.
2. Acquisition of critical awareness relative to the fundamentals of the
professional relationship with the patient, guiding in a manner
appropriate to the fundamentals of the profession.
3. Ability to apply the knowledge gained in the context of the profession
with particular regard to professional liability.
4. Ability to express an opinion bioethical with adequate critical
methodology.
5. Ability to transfer the theoretical knowledge in practical activity in
order to correctly decipher the ethical relevance that certain situations of
health care fee.
6. Awareness of moral responsibility and delll'aiuto decisions suggested
to patients and their families, always keeping the patient at the center,
her past and the function of accompaniment that involves professional
practice
7. Follow the evolution of the bioethical debate.
8. Ability to take part, using the knowledge acquired in the course, the
continuous updating initiatives in the professional.
