- Contents
- The first part of the course (prof. Casini) consists of two “modules”.
Module I: the professional and cultural figure of the literature teacher; the valorization of the transversal educational potential of literature in the humanistic scholastic tradition; literature as an encounter in experience and testimonies; the role of the school teacher; the history of the Italian school; the history of teacher training; the current reality of Italian and European schools from an organizational and administrative point of view; the social, demographic and generational identity of students.
Module II: centrality of the text; literature and language; new technologies for teaching: tools and resources.
The second part of the course (Prof. Chessa) consists of a module.
Module III: Italian literature manuals in upper secondary schools: observations, reflections, proposals. The manual of Italian literature between Teaching and Research, between School and University; the critical use of manuals for the study of literary tradition in secondary schools. The classroom manual: teacher, student, manual; the manual as a tool for intellectual and emotional education. The canon of authors and texts in Italian literature manuals in upper secondary schools. - Reference texts
- The exam subject will consist of:
the topics and materials discussed during the course, the required in-depth bibliography (which will be specified at the beginning of the course and, as far as possible, will be made available on Unistudium);
A text for disciplinary in-depth study: Teaching of Italian literature. Reflections and application proposals, edited by Gino Ruozzi and Gino Tellini, Florence, Le Monnier, 2020, pp. 264;
A text of teaching experience: Roberto Contu, Teachers (the more and the better), Perugia, Aguaplano, 2019, pp. 131
The exercises and any other reports required during the course
Students with disabilities and/or with SLD who, having completed regular accreditation through SOL, have obtained access to University services, can apply for the compensatory tools ensured by law (e.g. textbooks in digital format; teaching materials in accessible formats: presentations, handouts, workbooks, provided if necessary in advance of the lessons), for which consult https://www.unipg.it/disabilita-e-dsa.
For the request, students are invited to ask the teacher, who will put them in contact with the Disability and/or DSA Department Coordinator (prof. Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it) - Educational objectives
- The course aims to enhance the knowledge and skills acquired by students during their university career as much as possible for the purpose of teaching Italian literature. It also aims to be an opportunity to reflect on the educational value of literature, on the possible centrality of humanistic and literary training in schools, and on the great changes underway in the approach to literature, inside and outside the school. Finally, an education in the critical use of the tools available for teaching: school textbooks, online sites, etc. Exercise to comment on poetic, narrative and argumentative texts. We will discuss in depth new digital technologies for teaching
- Prerequisites
- At least one Italian literature exam is required.
- Teaching methods
- Lectures and laboratory lessons.
Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it). - Other information
- Given the laboratory and interactive nature of the course, in general there is no possibility of taking the exam with substitute programs for non-attenders. Only for motivated and proven cases, they can be agreed with the teachers.
Students with disabilities and/or SLD: for any information on University services, consult the page https://lettere.unipg.it/home/disabilita-e-dsa and contact the Disability and/or DSA Department Coordinator (prof. Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it). - Learning verification modality
- The exam is aimed at evaluating the teaching skills of Italian literature both at a general level and applied to the specific issues covered during the course.
The answers to the exam questions will determine an evaluation based on the ownership of language, the exhaustiveness of the contents, the ability to transpose the contents into effective teaching choices.
Students with disabilities and/or with SLD who, having completed regular accreditation through SOL, have obtained access to University services, can apply for compensatory tools, dispensatory measures and inclusive technologies ensured by law, to be requested and agreed with the teacher well in advance of tests and exams. - Extended program
- The detailed program (Contenuti e Testi di riferimento) will be indicated at the beginning of the course and made available on the UniStudium.
