Contents The course offers an introduction to the history of medicine and an in-depth look at the age of the Scientific Revolution, as the founding season of modern science. A particular focus will be on the relationship between the various disciplines and the mathematical-quantitative paradigm of modern science, especially in view of the gap between the exact and physical sciences and the biological sciences.
Reference texts Bibliographic references will be given at the beginning of the lectures.
Educational objectives The course aims to offer :
-basics of the history of medicine
-elements of the historical evolution of scientific thought
-basics of the history of epistemology
Prerequisites Excellent knowledge of the Italian language; elements of European history
