Contents	Knowledge of the organization and of the main activities of a transfusion medicine service.
Educational objectives	Knowledge and application of the main immunological methods and production processes, blood components and blood products used in Transfusion Services. The goal is to provide the student, before the basis for tackling the study and in the future in the business world, applications of standard methodologies in use in transfusion laboratories. The applications of the methods, which have been listed in teaching methods, will be put into practice during the training period at the transfusion laboratory. Students divided into groups, in the period of the internship, will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in the various sectors having the transfusion laboratory at the end of the course a complete view of the process.
