Contents
The course aims to provide students with theoretical and practical
aspects of educational counseling as helping profession for emerging
educational needs; addresses the topic of Storytelling -which uses a
plurality of communicative and expressive languages to enhance
emotional competence, cognitive and reflective process - as
primary educational tools in educational activities and relationships. The
course consider methodologic tools of educational research and the
working tools of second level social educator to design educational
counseling activities.

Educational objectives
At the end of the course, students should have acquired knowledge
about: educational counseling, educational relationship; Storytelling and
some narrative paths and practices used in educational counseling
activities ;the peculiar working tools of the second level social educator.
Prerequisites
For a fruitful learning of the course themes it is important that the
student has taken at least an examination of "didattica" and mastered
the concepts of educational relationship and teaching strategy. It's also
useful that the student has taken an examination of "pedagogia
sperimentale" or " metodologia della ricerca in educazione" to
comprehend, during the course, planning and evaluating processes of
educational counseling .
Students must also have acquired adequate pedagogical vocabulary and
ability in organizing the exhibition of the required content.
As the course is delivered in blended learning mode, students who intend
to attend the course must have basic computer skills
Teaching methods
The course is in blended learning mode and consist of:
- front lessons/lectures
- lessons / activities online
- Face to face and online laboratories.

Learning verification modality
The exam includes:
- A written test on line on the topics covered in the course and on the
exercises
- Or a test interview (10-30 min - in presence or on line with specific
elements that will be known during the course) consisting of specific
questions on the topics of the course:
Knowledge of mains elements of educational counseling and, particulary,
the training setting, educational relationship and communicative
competence in educational counseling; Knowledge about the educationalteaching strategies in educational counseling, especially Storytelling;

General knowledge about the work tools of second level social educator
and some elements of educational research process. In case a student
intends to anticipate his/her exam in a year preceding the one it is
scheduled in his/her curriculum, it is recommended to anticipate as well
the attendance of the lessons and to schedule the exam in the first useful
session after the lessons have been concluded.
Extended program
The course aims to foster in students the knowledge and skills useful for
the construction of educational and training projects within the
framework of actions of educational counseling. In this sense, it presents
the theoretical and practical aspects of educational Counseling and
educational Relationship. In particular, the corurse addresses the topic of
Storytelling - which uses a plurality of communicative and expressive
languages to enhance emotional competence in the cognitive and
reflective process - as a primary educational tool in educational
counseling activities and relationships. The course consider some
methodologic tools of educational research and the working tools of
second level social educator to design concretely educational counseling
activities. Practice attention will be given to the plan of an educational
process.
