Notes supplied by the teacher. - Educational objectives
- The main objective of the course is to provide the tools to describe the graph of a mathematical law.
The main knowledge acquired will concern the properties of continuous and differentiable functions and the geometric consequences
The main skills that the course aims to transmit are:
- to be able to qualitatively describe mathematical laws and their geometric properties (existence of a tangent line, maximum and minimum) and to know how to calculate the underlying area.
- knowing how to solve, following a standard procedure, the calculations needed to determine the graph or area. - Prerequisites
- All basic notions of mathematics, in particular those relating to the mathematics course given in the first semester
- Teaching methods
- Lessons
- Other information
- All students are strongly invited to follow the lessons of mathematics of the first semester
- Learning verification modality
- The examination involves an individual written test lasting 1,5 hours. The written test is aimed at verifying the correct application of the rules and all theoretical skills reached by the student in manipulating the calculation methods .
In particular during the exam the student will solve two different exercises: one about the functions (study of graphics) and one about integral calculation.
