Contents Il corso tratta i concetti chiave dell’antropologia culturale e medica (cultura, etnia, etnografia, pratica, azione, tecniche del corpo, habitus, incorporazione, ecc.) e si focalizza specificatamente sull’intreccio tra corpo, salute e malattia, produzione sociale della malattia, dolore, cura e dispositivi di efficacia. Verranno presentati approfondimenti etnografici sul rapporto tra biosocialità, ambienti e processi di medicalizzazione, oltre a riflessioni su metodologie etnografiche in campo sanitario. Particolare attenzione sarà dedicata all’applicazione critica di questi concetti nei contesti professionali, di relazione d’aiuto, adattamento e pratiche di cura.

Educational objectives Al termine del corso lo studente dovrà: 1. Possedere una conoscenza approfondita dell’antropologia culturale e medica, con particolare riferimento a salute, malattia, corpo e contesti di cura; 2. Saper applicare i principali concetti e metodi dell’antropologia in modo critico nel campo sociosanitario, nelle professioni d’aiuto e nella comprensione delle disuguaglianze legate a salute/sofferenza; 3. Essere in grado di riconoscere le dinamiche culturali e biosociali che intervengono nella produzione e gestione della malattia e della cura; 4. Conoscere le principali metodologie etnografiche applicate ai contesti di salute, ospedale e pratiche corporee.
Teaching methods Il corso si basa principalmente su lezioni frontali durante le quali il docente esporrà i concetti, i metodi e i contenuti della disciplina. È prevista la visione di filmati etnografici e documentari su salute\malattia in una prospettiva antropologica. Al termine di ogni lezione sarà dato spazio al dibattito e alle domande degli studenti.
Learning verification modality La verifica dell’apprendimento avverrà tramite una prova scritta composta da 15 domande a risposta multipla, focalizzata sul modulo di antropologia. L’esame si svolgerà in forma integrata con i moduli di infermieristica e psicologia generale, valutando la capacità dello studente di collegare criticamente quanto appreso nei tre ambiti disciplinari.
Extended program Il corso si articola in due parti: • Una introduttiva sui fondamenti teorici dell’antropologia culturale/medica, sulla metodologia etnografica e sulle chiavi di lettura storiche e analitiche dei fenomeni di salute e malattia; • Una seconda parte dedicata ad approfondimenti etnografici: corpo, dolore, rappresentazioni della sofferenza, efficacia simbolica, cura, produzione sociale della malattia, medicalizzazione, crisi ambientali e dispositivi di cura nella contemporaneità. Verranno discussi casi studio sia classici sia attuali, con attenzione alle metodologie e alle prospettive etiche nella ricerca.

Contents The module introduces the main psychological processes — perception, memory, learning, emotions, motivation, communication — and their implications in nursing practice. Particular attention is given to the patient’s experience, adaptation to illness, and the development of an effective helping relationship.

Educational objectives By the end of the course, the student will be able to: - Describe the main mental and behavioral processes studied in general psychology. - Understand the psychological dynamics that influence perception, emotion, and behavior in care contexts. - Apply psychological concepts to improve communication and relationships with patients. - Recognize the impact of emotions, motivations, and cognitive states on adaptation to illness. - Recognize individual variability related to development and personality.

Learning verification modality Assessment will take place through a written test consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions, evaluating the student’s ability to critically understand general psychology and its impact on healthcare professions. The exam will be held in an integrated form with the nursing and anthropology modules, using the LibreEol platform. Students with specific learning disabilities (SLD) are entitled, by ministerial regulations, to a 20% increase in the time available to complete the written test.
Extended program The following topics will be covered: - Introduction to general psychology applied to nursing; the importance of the psychological perspective in helping relationships. - Perception and attention: analysis of perceptual mechanisms (pain, bodily signals, environment) and attention; impact on communication and clinical safety. - Memory and learning: study of memory and learning processes, with reference to information transfer, patient education, and treatment adherence. - Emotions and stress: effects on illness, hospitalization, and the psychological responses of patients and healthcare professionals; coping strategies and resilience. - Motivation and empowerment: motivational principles (needs, self-determination); supporting treatment adherence, active participation, and patient empowerment. - Interpersonal communication: verbal and non-verbal elements, active listening, empathy, and emotion management in the patient relationship; communication barriers and challenges. - Development and individual differences: the influence of age, personality, and life cycle on illness perception and care experience; patient-centered personalized approach.
