- The course of “Progettazione Meccanica Avanzata” aims to provide students the required skills for the design of mechanical components such as pressure vessels and rotating disks, as well as two-dimensional elements like plates and shells. In addition, students will acquire knowledge in the design of mechanical components subjected to vibrations and dynamic phenomena.

- The course of "Progettazione Meccanica Avanzata" aims to provide methods for designing mechanical components in two-dimensional development (plates and shells) and for designing of components subject to vibrations and dynamic phenomena.
- Prerequisites
- In order to understand and be able to apply some of the techniques described in the teaching, preliminary knowledge of " Progettazione e Costruzione di Macchine " is required.

- Learning verification modality
- The exam for the “Progettazione Meccanica Avanzata” course consists of an oral exam in which both the theoretical topics covered during the will be discussed. In addition, the exam requires the development of a project for a lifting system based on technical specifications and reference regulations to be discussed during the oral exam.

- Thin-walled pressure vessels subject to internal and external pressure, thick-walled pressure vessels subject to internal and external pressure, cylinder buckling, shaft-hub coupling. Analysis of thin and thick rotating discs. Plates subjected to pure bending, bending moments and curvature, stress calculation, special cases. General theory of cylindrical shells and special cases.
Single degree of freedom systems, transmissibility, multi-degree of freedom systems, modal analysis and modal truncation.
