The course aims to provide theoretical and technical training on the methodological and clinical dimensions of psychological intervention, whether addressed to individuals or groups, and within the various contexts in which such interventions take place. The goal is to explore in depth the elements traditionally considered fundamental to clinical practice (i.e., the psychological attitude, the different configurations of the setting, the development of clinical dialogue, the psychologist-client relationship, and the reading and interpretation of clinical material), in order to promote a continuous integration between theory and practice.
From this perspective, the course seeks to offer both conceptual and practical tools to support a comprehensive and integrated understanding of the complexity of psychological intervention. This approach is designed to be applicable across multiple levels of action: from individual to group settings, and extending to broader social and institutional contexts, throughout the entire lifespan.
As a complement to the training path, the course will also introduce and examine key foundational elements of psychotherapy. These insights will provide students with an initial orientation toward the field of psychotherapy, understood as a specialized evolution of clinical intervention.

Reference texts
The final course syllabus will be communicated by the instructor at the beginning of the lessons and published on the Unistudium platform. Additional materials will be provided based on the teaching activities carried out during the course. The reference texts are valid for all students taking the exam, including attending and non-attending students, working students, and students with disabilities and/or specific learning disorders (SLD).
Educational objectives
Course Objectives The objectives of the course are defined with reference to the following domains: Knowledge and understanding: to enable students to acquire fundamental knowledge of the main psychological and psychotherapeutic theories and models present in the contemporary landscape. Applying knowledge and understanding: to support students in moving from theories of the mind to psychotherapeutic practice, developing skills necessary to apply knowledge related to technique and the therapeutic relationship. Making judgments: students will be able to integrate the theoretical knowledge acquired with the specificity of real-life cases they may encounter in professional settings. Communication skills: students will acquire specific terminology that will allow them to communicate effectively with both specialist and non-specialist interlocutors, including in interdisciplinary contexts. Learning skills: students will develop the ability to study independently and to search for specialized resources in the field, including through the use of bibliographic research in relevant academic databases.

To fully understand the intervention models presented during the course, it is important that students have prior knowledge in general psychology, dynamic psychology, general psychopathology, and diagnosis. It is also recommended that students possess a basic understanding of psychological interview techniques.
