Learning verification modality
The test will consist of a written exam with open and closed questions to assess: - understanding and knowledge of the issues covered, the ability to place them in historical context and explain the methods used; - the ability to critically analyse the issues addressed from a scientific, ethical and social point of view; - the ability to use sociological and criminological language in relation to the phenomena investigated; - the ability to design social research and prevention interventions in hypothetical work contexts, in criminal and non-criminal settings.
Extended program
Introduction to the course, teaching methods, workshops and assessment methods. 1. Elements of the sociology of deviance and social control: norms, socialisation, social control, analysis of the causes of deviance, sanctions, prevention and control systems. In-depth study of deviance as a social construct. 2. Fear as an emotion and as a mechanism of social control in different contexts. 3. The social dimensions of fear. Case studies and practical observations. 4. Fear and resentment in conflicts between cultures 5. Fear in the professions of coordination and management of emergencies and security
