Extended program
After a brief introduction dedicated to the concepts that generally characterize the ethical dimension as such, the course intends to introduce the student to the main paradigms that, beyond the specific differences, distinguish the ethical debate within contemporary thought. In this way, the general concepts that define the realist or Aristotelian paradigm will be illustrated and discussed first, then move on to the emotionivist or Humean paradigm and conclude with the prescriptivist or Kantian paradigm. For the first part, the notes relating to the lessons will be distributed free of charge at the end of the course. In the second part of the course, through the critical examination of a contemporary text belonging to the realist conception - A. MacIntyre, After virtue. Moral theory essay, Armando, Rome 2007 - concepts and topics illustrated in the first part of the course will be studied in depth.
