Extended program Nucleotides and Nucleic acids: purine and pyrimidine bases, nucleosides, nucleotides, DNA and RNA. Carbohydrates: monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides. Lipids: Fatty Acids, Triglycerides, Phospholipids and Glycolipids, Cholesterol. Amino acids and proteins: acid base properties. Peptide bonding. Fibrous and globular proteins. Primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary structure of proteins. Isoelectric point. Biological functions. Structure and function of biological membranes: composition of biological membranes.
