- The present course aimed at provide a core understanding of both clinical psychology and psychosomatic medicine, with a specific focus on the main current diagnostic systems and related criteria.

- The main aims of the course are: (1) To provide an in-depth knowledge on clinical psychopathology and psychosomatics within a broad biopsychosocial model; (2) To describe a clinically relevant assessment process oriented to both diagnostic and clinical case formulation; (3) To offer a clinically relevant knowledge of the main diagnostic classifications (PDM-2, along with DSM-5 and ICD-11), with a specific focus on the complex relationship mind-body.
- Prerequisites
- a) A basic knowledge of the clinical psychology field;
b) A basic knowledge of the main concepts within the psychopathology theories. - Teaching methods
- The course will take place as face-to-face class, with group discussions and workshops (if possible).

- Main topics of the course will be: main theoretical models in clinical psychology; main theoretical models in psychosomatics; clinical thinking; main diagnostic systems and the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM-2); diagnostic process; psychomatic disorders; personality disorders; eating disorders.
