Educational objectives
Provide the students an adequate knowledge of paradigmatic issues of Comparative constitutional law
Prerequisites
Students must have: - An adequate level of English language proficiency; - The knowledge of basic principles and concepts of public law:

The course will be divided in two modules: A GENERAL section dedicated to the basic principles of Comparative public law with particular attention to the theory of Constitutionalism and of the State, the forms of government, types of judicial review of legislation and federalism and regional organization A SPECIAL SECTION focused on the roots, the sources and evolution of the English law system and Government, in order to move after the attention to the analysis of United States' Constitution and legal system, which will be analyzed from its origins, through the evolutionary dynamics up to the most recent institutional events. Besides, special attention will be given to paradigmatic issues such as the division of powers, federalism and the protection of fundamental rights.
