- Kinematics and dynamics of deformable bodies. Constitutive theories for elastic solids and viscous fluids.

- Educational objectives
- The course aims at introducing the basics for a rigorous study of motions and deformations of real bodies. Particular attention will be paid to viscous fluids and elastic solids.

- Calculus. Linear Algebra. Elements of Mechanics.

- Chalk and board lectures.

- The attendance is not compulsory but it is warmly recommended.
- Learning verification modality
- The final exam consists in two parts. In the first part the student is asked to solve some exercises and after he or she has to answer to some questions on the contents of the course.

- Tensor algebra and tensor calculus. Kinematics of deformable bodies. Body and contact forces. Balance laws. Constitutive theory. Frame indifference and material symmetry. Nonlinear Elasticity. Perfect and viscous fluids.
