- Oral exam during the regular sessions on the topics covered in class; expected average duration 20-30 minutes. The exams are designed to test the basic knowledge/concepts presented in the course, evaluate critical thinking skills, and the presentation of the main topics covered and their sources.

- Knowledge: Historical and religious context of the 13th century: the evangelical-pauperist movements; origins of the Franciscan fraternity: Brother Francis and the friars of the first fraternity; institutionalization of the Order of Friars Minor: the crisis of 1220, the relationship with the Apostolic See, and institutional evolution. Critical reading skills, independent judgment on the sources covered in the course, and communication skills.
