Educational objectives The aim of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to use epidemiologic methods in the health services research and in the planning of health services
Prerequisites Knowledge of secondary school mathematics and biology
Teaching methods Lectures and case study discussion
Learning verification modality Written test and presentation of a group work
Extended program Health needs assessment: role and use of health indicators, crude, specific and standardized rates and descriptive epidemiologic studies. Study of the causes: role of epidemiologic analytic studies and causality assessment. Assessment of health interventions: role of indicators of the health systems performance and of experimental study designs
