Contenuti | Petrophysics and Well Log interpretation 1. Rock properties General introduction on rock properties: permeability, porosity, density. The distribution of porosity and permeability in sedimentary rocks Factors influenced porosity and permeability: grain-size, grain shape, texture and fractures Early and burial diagenesis products and their influence on porosity and permeability (compaction). Basic concepts of petrophysics and interaction rock-fluids: fracture and matrix relations 2. Production geology – Pressure System Basic definitions Pore pressure and pressure regime Origin and quality control of pressure data – Pressure evaluation Origins of sub-normal pressure Origins of abnormal Pressure Pressure-temperature relationships 3. Rock properties measurements Core vs. Log (scaling effects, overburden) Vertical depth deviation (calculation of well deviation) Wireline (open hole, cased hole) while-drilling Measurements of rock properties: Rock evaluation (Well logging) Lithological tools (caliper, gamma ray, potential SP, .... ) Porosity tools (density, neutron, sonic) Resistivity tools (saturation: induction, galvanic) Pressure measurements (fluid contacts OWC, permeability) Calculation Methodology: Volume shale calculation Porosity Water saturation (Archie) Measurements of fluid/gas properties: well test, pressure test, production monitoring 4.
