| Obiettivi formativi | The teaching aims at acquiring critical and analytical tools proper to the philosophy of logic. Knowledge and Ability to Understand: The student should be familiar with the main issues concerning the philosophy of logic and mereology. Applied Knowledge and Ability to Understand: The student must learn and be able to apply metalogical and mereological demonstrative strategies. Autonomy of judgment: The student must demonstrate autonomy of judgment in relation to the pulalism of logical systems. Communication Skills: The student must demonstrate communication, dialogue and debate skills, using appropriate technical language and exploiting correct argumentative modes. Learning skills: The student must acquire a rational method of evaluation that enables him/her, in the course of his/her studies, to organize coherently and with critical awareness the knowledge acquired. |

| Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento | Final paper (3000 words) on a topic of the seminar. The paper needs to be handed at least 2 weeks before the exam session. However, I strongly suggest you hand the paper way before (a month or so) so you can get comments from me—which will surely improve the final grade. You are invited to contact me to discuss possible topics. |
